Director of Asset Operations

About The Position

This is not a traditional maintenance position. The Director of Asset Operations will own the strategy, reliability, and lifecycle management of Legacybox’s fleet of specialized media digitization equipment. This role is responsible for maximizing uptime, optimizing capital investments, and building scalable systems that support production growth. The position blends operational leadership, financial decision-making, and technical asset management.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience managing production or operational equipment.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing technical or operational teams.
  • Demonstrated success in developing scalable asset management processes.
  • Experience with CMMS or similar asset tracking and maintenance systems.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen related to equipment lifecycle and ROI.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Equipment Fleet: Oversee the performance, reliability, and lifecycle of specialized production equipment.
  • Drive Reliability: Implement preventive maintenance strategies to ensure consistent uptime and throughput.
  • Optimize Capital Investments: Evaluate repair versus replacement decisions to maximize asset ROI.
  • Build Scalable Systems: Establish SOPs, KPIs, and asset tracking processes that support operational efficiency.
  • Lead Vendor Partnerships: Manage external repair vendors and parts suppliers to ensure quality and cost control.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Production, Finance, and Engineering to align asset strategy with business needs.
  • Lead and Develop the Team: Recruit, mentor, and manage technicians responsible for equipment support.
