About The Position

The Senior Director of Asset Management will establish and lead the asset management function for a diversified renewable energy portfolio. This role focuses on enhancing value and operational effectiveness, ensuring optimal performance, profitability, and long-term sustainability of assets. The position requires strategic oversight, collaboration with various stakeholders, and a commitment to operational excellence and financial optimization while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, or a related discipline; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in asset management, operations, or financial oversight within the renewable energy sector, including demonstrated success building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale portfolios of renewable energy assets (e.g., solar, wind, energy storage).
  • Strong background in financial modeling, budgeting, and performance evaluation for energy projects.
  • Exceptional leadership and team development abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of renewable energy technologies, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics.
  • Strong financial acumen with a track record of improving asset-level financial outcomes.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and asset management platforms.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

  • Familiarity with renewable energy regulations, industry standards, and O&M contract management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operational and financial performance of a renewable energy asset portfolio, monitoring key indicators and ensuring safety, reliability, and strong financial returns.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to optimize technical performance, maximize project availability, and achieve high efficiency across all renewable energy installations.
  • Manage asset-level financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and overall P&L responsibility.
  • Lead contract administration efforts, maintaining compliance with agreements such as PPAs, O&M contracts, debt and tax equity arrangements, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Implement strategies informed by data-driven insights and best practices to enhance asset performance, reduce costs, and increase energy production.
  • Identify operational and financial risks, develop mitigation measures, and ensure adherence to regulatory and safety standards.
  • Build, mentor, and guide an asset management team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and performance excellence.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, project partners, and regulatory agencies, providing clear, timely communication on portfolio performance and key developments.
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as relevant industry standards.
