About The Position

Under the general direction of the Director of Advancement and in direct coordination with the Director of Stewardship and Alumni Giving, the Director of Annual Giving is responsible for managing schoolwide annual fundraising initiatives, annual fundraising communication, and annual fundraising volunteer management. Collaborating with the Advancement team, this role is critical to creating a cohesive and comprehensive annual fundraising program supporting the mission of the School and its faculty, staff, students, and programs. This full-time position will require weekend or evening work.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; Master's degree or higher preferred.
  • A minimum of five to seven years of fundraising experience, including at least 3-5 years of fundraising preferably at an independent school; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Must be a strong communicator.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge and GiveCampus preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees a comprehensive prospect management process that allows a cohesive approach to prospect solicitation across a variety of fundraising approaches, including but not limited to the Annual Fund, future campaigns, and the School's benefit.
  • Manages and executes all elements of the Annual Fund from plan design to achieving success in reaching and/or surpassing both the financial goal and participation goal as the Annual Fund is an essential part of the School's budget.
  • Develops, organizes, and monitors all annual fund related materials, including direct mail solicitations, a philanthropy guide and all accompanying pieces.
  • Identifies, trains, motivates, and manages all parent fundraising volunteers, both focused on the Annual Fund and on any School wide campaigns.
  • Identifies leadership gift prospects, manages prospect research for all constituents, manages segmented solicitations, and ensures prospects are properly managed by staff and/or volunteer solicitation efforts.
  • Ensures website and annual giving materials properly reflect methods of giving; manages gifts of securities/wire transfers in partnership with team members in the Business Office.
  • Oversees an appropriate gift acknowledgement process ensuring that donors feel genuinely and quickly acknowledged and thanked for their support.
  • Develops and executes donor thank you events for Annual Fund donors with support of the Director of Stewardship and Alumni Giving.
  • Stewards existing donors with a focus on increasing giving levels.
  • Works with Advancement team members, to ensure proper recording of donor information, gifts and to produce appropriate financial and donor statistical reports.
  • Organizes parent phonathons, textathons, thank you writing campaigns and an annual community-wide Giving Events.
  • Advances the culture of philanthropy and strengthens the community.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
