This position sets the vision for how we serve high- and ultra-high-net-worth clients, aligns people and planning strategies around a cohesive platform, and drives continuous improvement across investment management, advanced planning, and client experience. As a strategic leader and firm-wide partner, the Director strengthens Annex’s reputation for delivering personalized, sophisticated, and impactful wealth guidance.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required. Advanced designations such as CFP, CFA, MBA or JD are strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated success in wealth management or financial advisory roles working with high net worth or ultra-high net worth clients, and in a leadership or management position leading high-performing teams.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team of financial wealth managers.
  • Client-Centric Approach: Strong commitment to client service excellence and fiduciary responsibility.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated success in client relationship management and service delivery.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, wealth managers, and internal partners.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance in the financial services industry.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Deep empathy for client needs and expectations, while designing thoughtful interactions that feel proactive, personal and in the “Annex Way.”
  • Lifelong Learner: Ongoing pursuit of industry and professional education to contribute to better team management and coaching, and client delivery and financial concepts and application.
  • Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in financial planning software (eMoney), CRM systems, and other relevant technology platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Vision & Strategy: Contributes to the development and execution of the firm's strategic initiatives and business plans by defining and executing on the multi-year vision for the Private Client team. Leads strategy development by balancing innovation, scalability, and exceptional client outcomes while anticipating industry and client evolution.
  • Planning Excellence & Thought Leadership: Sets the standard for advanced wealth planning for high- and ultra-high-net-worth clients by integrating investment, estate, philanthropic, business, tax, and risk-management strategies into clear, actionable recommendations. Champions emerging ideas and elevates Annex’s intellectual capital internally and externally.
  • Client Experience Leadership and Advisory: Designs and upholds an elevated, consistent Private Client experience that reflects proactive guidance, clear communication, and the “Annex Way” at every client touchpoint. Serves as lead wealth manager for a select group of high- and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
  • Team Leadership and Performance Management: Builds, inspires and develops a high-performing team of wealth professionals. Ensures the team has the resources and training needed to succeed while managing team dynamics to optimize productivity and morale. Monitors and evaluates team performance, providing regular feedback and reflections, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
  • Enterprise Collaboration: Develops and nurtures positive collaborative relationships across the firm. Acts as a connector, aligning specialists, leadership, and resources to deliver coordinated, high-impact service for complex clients.
