About The Position

The Director of Ancillary Services serves as the primary representative in the daily operations of the Dietary and Environmental Services departments. Dietary responsibilities include insuring safe food handling, volume food production, menu development and modification, meal assembly and portion control, inventory management, financial performance, infection control/sanitation and overall department function. As the primary leader for the Environmental Services department, the Director of Ancillary Services is responsible for executing company and facility environmental services programs and procedures by directing the training and provision of services by Environmental Services and Linen staff.

Requirements

  • Maturity, good judgment and the ability to work comfortably with people in the department
  • Good organizational, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and maintain composure in stressful situations, to use good judgment and available resources, be detail oriented, and meet established deadlines regardless of the presence of adverse conditions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to DHL’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
  • Bachelor Degree in business or related field required
  • Five years of relevant experience in similar role
  • When required by a local health or other regulatory agency, a valid Food Handler’s Permit or Health Department Training Certificate is required.

Nice To Haves

  • P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience is desirable.
  • Master's Preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Insuring safe food handling, volume food production, menu development and modification, meal assembly and portion control, inventory management, financial performance, infection control/sanitation and overall department function.
  • Executing company and facility environmental services programs and procedures by directing the training and provision of services by Environmental Services and Linen staff.
  • Manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services
  • Identify defects in the preparation and service of food as well as insure that the provision of environmental services throughout the building including patient care areas.
  • Responding effectively to changing demands.
  • Demonstrate commitment and adherence to DHL’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
