About The Position

The Director of Career Engagement and Employer Partnerships leads a dynamic team dedicated to preparing LIU students for meaningful career success. This role focuses on expanding internship and job placement pipelines, strengthening relationships with top employers, and ensuring every student graduates career-ready. As part of the Division of Student Affairs, the Director works closely with Success Coaches, academic partners, and industry leaders to embed career development throughout the student experience and leverage LIU's strong presence in the New York City market.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Higher Education, Business, Counseling, or related field.
• Five (5) years of experience in career services, employer relations, or student success.
• Proven ability to build partnerships with employers and deliver measurable results.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Experience using Handshake, Big Interview, or other career development platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Associate Directors and professional staff focused on career readiness, internships, and student placement.
• Build and maintain relationships with employers to expand internship and job opportunities.
• Oversee career programming, including résumé completion, interview preparation, workshops, and networking events.
• Manage and promote career tools such as Handshake and Big Interview to enhance access and engagement.
• Collaborate with Success Coaches to ensure every student is career-ready before graduation.
• Use data to track employment outcomes, guide program improvements, and highlight student success.
