The Director of Advisor Services is a senior relationship management and practice leadership role responsible for helping advisor teams grow, operate efficiently, and deliver exceptional client outcomes across the Great Lakes Region. Acting as a trusted consultant, advocate, and general manager for assigned advisor teams, this role partners closely with Advisor Leads and cross-functional Practice Management Team (PMT) specialists to drive engagement, organic growth, practice optimization, and advisor development. This role requires a strong organic growth mindset, the ability to drive results within advisor teams, and the judgment to operate with end-to-end ownership—balancing growth, people, operations, and execution. The Director of Advisor Services plays a critical role in translating firm strategy into advisor level outcomes throughout the Great Lakes footprint. This is a remote position, supporting advisor teams across the Great Lakes Region. In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $180,000, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in business, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in wealth management advisory practices
  • Minimum of 5 years of management
  • Demonstrated organic growth orientation with a track record of driving results within advisor teams
  • Proven ability to think and act like a general manager, balancing growth, people, operations, and financial outcomes
  • Strong understanding of wealth management operations with expertise in at least two of the following areas: Financial planning Client acquisition / organic growth Marketing Practice management Business operations Project or change management
  • Demonstrated success influencing and leading without direct positional authority
  • Excellent communication, relationship building, and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to support a multistate Great Lakes Region, with up to 20% travel
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) and insurance licenses (required for hybrid office roles) preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Tamarac, and/or Orion preferred

Responsibilities

  • Advisor Engagement & Relationship Management Serve as the primary relationship leader and strategic business partner for advisor teams in the Great Lakes Region
  • Build trust based relationships with Advisor Leads through regular, structured engagement
  • Partner with Advisor Leads on roundtables and advisory committees to surface regional trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Act as the Voice of the Advisor for the region, sharing feedback and insights with corporate leadership
  • Organic Growth & General Management Leadership Bring a strong organic growth mindset, focused on net flows, revenue growth, and sustained advisor performance
  • Operate as a general manager for assigned advisor teams—owning growth outcomes, execution discipline, and overall practice health
  • Partner with Advisor Leads to identify growth opportunities, improve sales effectiveness, and drive measurable results
  • Coach advisors on networking, prospecting, and closing skills to improve opportunity conversion
  • Hold teams accountable to business plans, growth goals, and performance metrics
  • Practice Optimization & Business Execution Facilitate the development and execution of advisor team business plans
  • Develop, monitor, and report on key business metrics to track growth, productivity, and results
  • Evaluate practice workflows and office processes; recommend improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
  • Support annual regional budgeting and monitor performance against plan
  • Leverage PMT specialists (Growth, Marketing, Portfolio, Operations, Tax, Insurance) to support execution and client retention
  • Promote adoption of best practices, centralized processes, and consistent operating standards across the region
  • Advisor & Team Development Provide consultative leadership and coaching to Advisor Leads through regular one-on-one engagement
  • Help Advisor Leads build strong, collaborative, and high-performing teams
  • Assess advisor and staff skill levels; partner with mentors and corporate teams to deliver training and development
  • Support succession planning, talent development, and career progression
  • Identify and resolve performance or execution issues, escalating as appropriate
  • Corporate Program Implementation & Change Management Support rollout and adoption of firmwide initiatives across technology, marketing, operations, compliance, finance, and HR
  • Help Advisor Leads understand and implement new programs and processes
  • Coordinate with corporate teams to ensure training completion, technology adoption, and execution discipline
  • Reinforce marketing strategies and track outcomes
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures across operations, compliance, and facilities
  • Partner with Finance on budgeting, variance management, and fiscal discipline
  • Support HR initiatives including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and manager development
