About The Position

The Director of Advancement for Corporate and Foundation Relations at MU Health is a pivotal role within the University Programs team, focusing on the strategic development of relationships with corporate funders and foundation supporters to secure essential funding for healthcare initiatives. This position requires a dynamic and strategic fundraiser who is not only collaborative but also skilled in conducting thorough internal research to identify and match funding opportunities with the university's healthcare projects. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders, including the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC), University Programs, the Health System, and Executive Directors of Corporate Relations and Foundation Relations, to enhance existing corporate partnerships and develop a robust prospect pipeline for new corporate resources. The role emphasizes a partner-centric model aimed at driving revenue through various channels, including traditional philanthropy, grants, workforce development programs, and innovative partnership contributions. Essential skills for this position include the ability to conduct in-depth research to understand internal projects and funding needs, as well as the capacity to facilitate and coordinate meetings to discuss funding opportunities and develop strategic approaches. The Director will also be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and managing relationships with corporate partners, developing tailored proposals, and maintaining ongoing communication to ensure engagement and support. In addition to corporate partnership development, the Director will engage with foundations, leveraging knowledge of traditional and emerging foundations to identify funding opportunities that align with the university's mission. This includes building relationships with university administrators and faculty, preparing compelling grant applications, and serving as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external funders. The role also involves developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, tracking and reporting on fundraising progress, and providing regular updates to senior leadership on activities and outcomes.
