About The Position

The Director of Advancement and Community Connections at the Episcopal Diocese of New York will lead efforts to generate financial support and deepen community relations. This role is pivotal in advancing the Diocese's mission by cultivating donor relationships, securing grants, and developing fundraising initiatives. The Director will work strategically while also engaging in day-to-day activities to enhance the Diocese's impact and visibility within diverse communities.

Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or philanthropy or fundraising specialized programs.
• 10+ years of equivalent experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit leadership may substitute for formal education.
• Proven success in developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies, including major gifts and grant writing.
• Experience working with diverse communities to build partnerships.

Nice To Haves

• CFRE certification (Certified Fundraising Executive) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan that includes donor cultivation, grant writing, and community initiatives.
• Build and sustain relationships with individual donors, foundations, and other funding partners.
• Partner with the Bishop of New York to develop fundraising metrics and monitor progress.
• Identify funding needs and align fundraising efforts with diocesan goals.
• Establish relationships with civic and community leaders to enhance visibility and impact.
• Lead community engagement initiatives to strengthen connections between local congregations and external partners.
• Communicate the Diocese's mission and impact to external audiences through storytelling and relationship building.
• Supervise and guide direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
