About The Position

PURPOSE OF POSITION Work with Sales and Product Management to develop and manage a forecast for long range material planning while considering current inventory, obsolescence, lead times, product life cycles and production capacity. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. This role works closely with production, design, and quality teams to support new product launches and ongoing operations.   More specifically, the person will: Lead manufacturing readiness for new product launches, including process development, tooling, and workflow design  Collaborate with design engineering to ensure products are optimized for manufacturability (DFM/DFA)  Identify, evaluate, and implement automation solutions (robotics, welding automation, material handling, etc.)  Develop and validate manufacturing processes for new and existing products  Create and maintain work instructions, process flows, and standard work documentation  Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, quality, and labor efficiency  Troubleshoot production issues and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions  Support capital equipment projects from concept through installation and ramp-up  Monitor KPIs and use data to drive process improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering/Technology, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in heavy equipment or industrial manufacturing
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) in a production environment
  • Hands-on experience with automation systems (robotics, PLCs, automated welding, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools
  • Experience with CAD and manufacturing documentation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in welding, fabrication, or heavy equipment manufacturing
  • Familiarity with robotic welding or automated assembly systems
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Project management experience with capital equipment or automation initiatives
  • Experience/Interest in AI and opportunities to facilitate operations and management
