About the position

The Director of Admissions is responsible for managing the Intake Department by developing, implementing, and maintaining revenue-generating strategies along with managing intake staff. This role involves providing leadership to the Intake Department and ensuring proper processes are in place for coordinating admissions. The Director will implement the strategic plan of the business development and marketing department as it pertains to admissions, address quality management issues related to crisis triage, evaluation, intake, and admission, and ensure compliance with new laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the Intake Department and pre-admission process.
  • Implement the strategic plan of the business development and marketing department as it pertains to admissions.
  • Address quality management issues related to crisis triage, evaluation, intake, and admission.
  • Assign/distribute scheduled evaluations, intakes, or admissions as dictated by request and hospital census.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality improvement programs for all crisis triage, evaluation, intake, and admission services.
  • Complete admission reports pertaining to quality of process improvement.
  • Responsible for hiring and scheduling decisions for Admissions Department personnel.
  • Provide orientation, in-service, and continuing education programs for department staff.
  • Work to improve efficiency and quality in delivering services within the department.
  • Ensure department compliance with new laws and regulations.
  • Determine and implement admissions best practices and promote the hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Three years of work experience in an intake role in a Behavioral Health treatment facility preferred.
  • Knowledge of secretarial and office administrative procedures.
  • Experience in healthcare-related admissions with a Bachelor's degree or Master's, CAC, or CADC with a minimum of five years in the substance abuse treatment field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in crisis triage and evaluation services.
  • Training in Social Services.
