About The Position

The Director of Admissions at South University is responsible for leading the admissions team to achieve enrollment goals, focusing on converting inquiries into enrollments and ensuring new student matriculation. This role emphasizes quality service, employee development, and adherence to ethical standards while fostering a positive and innovative environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a business or sales-related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of admissions advising experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of management experience, preferably in higher education.
• At least one year as a Senior Admissions Representative and completion of the Manager Certificate Program may substitute for management experience.
• Demonstrated experience in hiring and building successful teams is preferred.
• Proven experience in meeting or exceeding sales goals and developing strategies.
• Experience managing employee relations issues is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in higher education admissions management is preferred.
• Experience in community outreach and public speaking.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Admissions to establish forecasts for new student targets.
• Manage staffing levels and productivity through effective personnel management, including hiring, training, and motivating employees.
• Achieve conversion rates from inquiry to applicant and from applicant to new student.
• Monitor expenses to ensure compliance with the budget.
• Contribute to marketing plans to support inquiry conversion and applicant retention.
• Ensure compliance with all university policies, ethical standards, and federal/state accreditation requirements.
• Partner with faculty and staff to maintain a vibrant student recruitment environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
