About The Position

Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Health serves the state of South Carolina with a broad range of psychiatric and substance abuse services. These services address the needs of individuals and families living with mental health and addiction disorders. Psychiatric programs and services for adolescents, adults and senior adults are offered in private inpatient and outpatient settings. The job involves providing and assessing the needs of walk-in and phone callers and ensuring their referral to the service or resource that best addresses the patient needs.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in social work, counseling, or other related field.
• A minimum of 3-5 years experience in utilizing assessment skills; previous healthcare experience preferred.
• Social work or Clinical Counseling license preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Understanding of Federal and State employment laws and regulations related to HR.

Responsibilities

• Reviews calls with CEO or AOC as designated and when applicable, communicates with Nursing Supervisor and On-Call MD.
• Completes and/or ensures performance of comprehensive clinical assessments for psychiatric & substance abuse patients.
• Ensures documentation of all pertinent clinical information and ensures all patients are dispositioned appropriately, utilizing supervision as required.
• Completes and/or ensures insurance pre-cert where insurance requires.
• Documents and/or ensures documentation of admissions into the computer.
• Conducts follow-up calls to referral sources and patient families.
• Department oversight to include personnel management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
