About The Position

The Director of Admissions at Walnut Creek Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is responsible for overseeing the operations of the admissions department, ensuring appropriate patient placement, and compliance with standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing or hospital setting is essential.
  • Thorough knowledge of medical, social, and financial information related to skilled nursing care.
  • Effective communication skills with residents, families, and staff.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with outside entities and staff members.
  • Working knowledge of computer equipment and software, including Point Click Care.
  • Leadership skills to manage the admissions department operations.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee admitting department operations and ensure compliance with admission standards.
  • Assist with appropriate patient placement in consultation with medical practitioners and nursing staff.
  • Communicate regularly with discharge planners from hospitals and other facilities to facilitate direct admissions.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the community to ensure quality patient placements.
  • Maintain the Point Click Care database to company standards.
  • Conduct in-house training sessions and develop touring fundamentals for potential admissions.
  • Prepare the facility for new admissions by confirming insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations.
  • Monitor the completion of admission agreements and ensure timely documentation for reimbursement.
  • Attend daily staff meetings to report on admissions and special needs.
