About The Position

Palm Shores and Suncoast Behavioral Health Centers are private psychiatric facilities designed to provide quality behavioral health services to children and adolescents in a supportive environment. The Director of Admissions/Intake for Palm Shores and Suncoast Behavioral Health Centers is responsible for the child/adolescent patient intake process involving both the acute inpatient psychiatric and residential program with a total of 125 beds. The Director of Admissions/Intake is responsible for day-to-day management and continuous improvement of the admissions function and is a member of the facility’s leadership team, working with the nursing, marketing, business and clinical personnel. This position provides supervision of department staff consisting of Intake Assessors/Clinicians and Admission Coordinators. The Director also participates in facility rounding.

Requirements

• Master's degree in counseling or social work.
• Florida licensed LCSW or LMHC required.
• At least five (5) years’ experience in the mental health field.
• Three or more years’ experience in Intake Assessment activities within a psychiatric facility.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of hospital admissions functions.
• Experience with crisis intervention and risk assessment.
• Understanding of psychiatric diagnoses symptomatology and basic chemical dependency.
• Familiarity with age-specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Manage the child/adolescent patient intake process for acute inpatient psychiatric and residential programs.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and continuous improvement of the admissions function.
• Supervise department staff including Intake Assessors/Clinicians and Admission Coordinators.
• Collaborate with nursing, marketing, business, and clinical personnel as part of the leadership team.
• Participate in facility rounding.
