The Director, Accounting will be responsible for leading the accounting team in the month end close process, ensuring adherence to internal controls and overseeing documentation of standard operating procedures. The preferred candidate will have 8+ years of accounting and internal controls experience with strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills plus advanced Excel knowledge. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter, detailed oriented and possess the ability to prioritize work in order to meet tight deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting field is required, CPA is preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, 4+ years audit experience and experience in corporate, multi-entity environment is a plus
  • Experience writing Policies and Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring compliance
  • Experience documenting processes and maintaining internal controls, Sarbanes Oxley experience a plus
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to interface with all levels of the organization and third-parties
  • Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills, experience with D365 and Blackline a plus

Responsibilities

  • Direct the activities of the accounting team to achieve monthly close deadlines, including:
  • Manage the monthly close process
  • Review and approve journal entries ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal controls
  • Review and approve account reconciliations ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal controls
  • Review account activity/balances during the month end close to identify discrepancies or necessary adjustments on a timely basis
  • Prepare schedules provide information to support audits
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and other process documentation
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Support the team on strategic projects and perform ad hoc projects and analysis
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends Global policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
