We are currently seeking candidates to fill a Director of Accounting role. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing General Ledger Accounting, Fixed Assets Accounting, Inventory and Cost Accounting, as well as the Payroll Process for US and Canada employees. This hands-on role coordinates with other Flexcon Global entities to accomplish reporting responsibilities and consolidation of financial results of the U.S., Mexico CFE, Flexcon Canada LMT, Flexcon converting, Flexcon Asia, and Flexcon Europe. This role reports to the VP of Finance of North America and is based at Flexcon’s headquarters in Spencer, Massachusetts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or educational equivalent
  • 10 years’ experience in Accounting related field, including 6 years management experience

Responsibilities

  • Supports the company’s accounting activities, maximizing the use of resources to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Leads and coordinates monthly closing, account reconciliations and balance sheet reviews
  • Analyzes complex data to uncover trends, patterns, and potential issues that may impact organizational objectives; provides insightful recommendations, enabling management to make informed decisions
  • Works collaboratively with Operations team to ensure the timely closure of outstanding action items
  • Responsible for preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals and allocations
  • Safeguard assets and ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions in accordance with GAAP and to appropriately reflect the financial risks of the business
  • Develop, improve and issue timely and complete monthly financial statements
  • Maintain the overall integrity of General Accounting, Budgeting and Reporting System
  • Establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures using GAAP principles
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
  • Systems Administrator for General Ledger System; Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and Financial Reporting System; Oracle Fusions Cloud Consolidation Service
  • Actively participates in all third-party financial audits, including confirmations and preparation
  • Oversight of fixed asset processes including construction in process accounting and personal property tax returns
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records as well as standard costing, including variance analysis
  • Other duties consistent with the general nature and focus of the position and/or the goals and objectives of the department may be assigned
  • Manage and develop a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and development, fostering a collaborate high performance work environment
