About The Position
Kurita America, part of the Kurita Group, is seeking a Director of Accounting Shared Services for its Brooklyn Park office. This role is pivotal in managing the accounts receivable, customer billing, accounts payable, and corporate credit card/expense functions, ensuring adherence to established organizational policies. The Director will lead a hybrid team focused on collection, credit functions, and disbursements, aiming to enhance cash flow and minimize credit loss. The position requires the implementation of processes, procedures, and internal controls to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, which is essential for maximizing cash flow in line with accounting standards. The Director will evaluate shared services opportunities and contribute to functional consolidation and automation initiatives. A key aspect of this role is cross-training team members on various accounting and finance functions, fostering a collaborative team culture. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership abilities, effective communication skills, and a capacity to motivate their team. The role demands a proven ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment, which is crucial for the success of the company. In this position, the Director will be responsible for ensuring that customers pay their invoices within agreed terms, coordinating collection efforts, and engaging with sales and customer service teams to resolve payment issues. The role also involves managing all aspects of customer billing and accounts payable, ensuring accurate data entry and reconciliation with the general ledger. Additionally, the Director will oversee the corporate credit policy, enforce credit standards, and manage corporate credit card and expense functions. The position requires strong relationships with internal departments and support for internal and external audits, along with effective management of a team of approximately 10 personnel.
