About The Position

The ETSU College of Nursing invites applications for a full-time Director of Academic Clinical Affairs. The Director of Academic Clinical Affairs provides strategic leadership and oversight for the clinical components of the nursing programs within the College of Nursing. This role involves collaboration with faculty, staff, clinical partners, and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality clinical education and compliance with accreditation standards. The Director must be a nurse with a strong background in clinical practice and academic administration. This position requires on-campus presence Monday through Friday. The College of Nursing is part of the University's Academic Health Sciences Center, which also includes the James H. Quillen College of Medicine, the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy, the College of Public Health, and the College of Health Sciences. The College of Nursing is the largest in the State of Tennessee offering multiple tracks for students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department of Undergraduate Programs is home to over 45 full-time faculty and 700 students across five (5) tracks including the Traditional BSN, Accelerated BSN (Johnson City, Kingsport, Sevierville), LPN-BSN, and RN-BSN/Dual Degree. The Department of Undergraduate Programs boasts a record of excellence with 60% of faculty holding specialty certifications and a strong record of collaboration and successful student outcomes. All programs in the College of Nursing are fully accredited by the CCNE. Requirements

  • Masters of Science in Nursing or related field and five (5) years of relevant, progressively responsible experience.
  • OR
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing or related field and two (2) years of relevant, progressively responsible experience (plus an additional five (5) years)
  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in Tennessee or compact state.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience in clinical education administration.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in current computer technologies and educational software.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Earned doctorate in Nursing or related field (PhD, EdD, DNP or equivalent.)
