About The Position

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall administration and supervision of the Nursing Program. This includes ensuring the fulfillment of educational goals and objectives, maintaining program compliance with Middle States Standards, maintaining Maryland Board of Nursing ( MBON ) approval, and maintaining full accreditation through the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing ( ACEN ) for the Associate Degree in Nursing. This position supports the Nursing programs at the College and develops and implements Nursing-related projects from concept inception through execution and evaluation by engaging faculty and other internal and external stakeholders. The Director of Nursing works collegially with the Health, Wellness & Hospitality Dean to ensure student progression, retention, and program completion, and promotes innovation and creativity in teaching and learning.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in nursing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of full-time teaching experience in Nursing in an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Active R.N. licensure or eligibility for active R.N. licensure in Maryland.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctoral degree preferred
  • Academic preparation and/or experience in administration.
  • Previous administrative, supervisory, and/or leadership experience preferred.
