Make a Difference The Director of Nursing will oversee the main OR, pre- and post-surgery, pre-op clinic, and Endoscopy at Community Hospital North. The Director will have an emphasis on strategic planning and business development, clinical outcomes, quality management, and excellence in customer service. This position provides the leadership and direction to develop, recommend, and implement programs, policies, procedures, and standards. The position reports to the VP of Nursing/Chief Nursing Executive of the hospital. Exceptional Skills and Qualifications Applicants for this position should demonstrate effective communication skills with all levels of the organization verbally, in writing, and through technology such as dashboards and PowerPoint presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited school of nursing is required.
  • Either the Bachelor’s or the Master’s must be in nursing.
  • Three (3) or more years of progressive management/leadership experience required.
  • Five (5) or more years of nursing experience required.
  • Current Indiana Registered Nurse License required.
  • Certification in a relevant specialty or nursing administration is required within three (3) years of hire.
  • Collaborates and builds effective relationships.
  • Demonstrates strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Independently resolve problems, plan strategically, and think creatively and critically.
  • Knowledge of best practices, processes, laws, regulations, tools, and software with the subject matter of the position.
  • Strong Analytical skills.
  • Able to build, motivate, and lead a high-performing team.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in surgery is strongly preferred.
