About The Position

The Director of Nursing Operations at HCA Healthcare is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Nursing Administrative Services, including staffing, bed management, and discharge processes. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating operational activities, developing policies, and ensuring quality improvement within the nursing department. The Director will also manage departmental productivity, develop strategic plans, and maintain relationships with physicians and referral sources to enhance service visibility and performance.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or instructor trainer.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or instructor trainer.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of Nursing Administrative Services including staffing and bed management.
  • Develop and implement departmental goals for productivity and customer service.
  • Benchmark performance measures and implement necessary changes.
  • Manage development and implementation of strategic plans.
  • Monitor service line growth and recommend strategies based on operational statistics.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with physicians and referral sources.
  • Participate in initiatives to promote visibility of services.
  • Assess and improve performance of care and services through performance improvement plans.
  • Serve as lead house supervisor and assist with house supervision operations.
  • Direct supervision of PRN pool staff and sitter pool operations.
  • Organize and staff assigned departments/services in collaboration with department directors.
  • Monitor cost management in alignment with patient volumes and revenue generation.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee continuous quality improvement initiatives and promote patient safety.
  • Mentor professional development of direct reports.
