The Director, North American Sales is responsible for achieving Revenue & Growth goals across the U.S., Canada and Mexico by developing and implementing strategic sales plans. This role leads, coaches, and develops an experienced, high-performing sales organization across North America. Additionally, the Director, North American Sales will oversee critical agency and distributor partnership and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve the organizations strategic objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or other relevant field.
  • 10+ years relevant sales experience; prior sales management experience highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to identify, develop, and retain high-performing sales talent.
  • Strong knowledge of the electrical distribution market and key industry players, including distributors and rep agencies.
  • Demonstrated success in creating and executing sales strategies that drive sustainable business growth.
  • Ability to adjust strategies and tactics quickly to respond to changing market conditions.
  • Highly self‑directed with strong entrepreneurial drive and initiative.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, and presentation), negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies that align with market trends and the organization’s strategic initiatives
  • Lead the North American Sales team to execute regional strategies & initiatives to meet or exceed sales targets
  • Play a key role in developing the organization’s annual budgets, sales forecasts, and long-range planning efforts
  • Manage direct reports, including hiring, performance management, sales quotas, and expense oversight
  • Oversee critical rep agency and distributor strategic relationships
  • Promote and reinforce a safe work environment
  • Ensure adherence for you and your teams contribution to the continuous improvement of company policies, processes and procedures
  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented workplace, across Sales & the broader organization
  • Direct supervision of Regional Sales Managers, National Account Managers, and Key Account Managers
  • Indirectly manage 40-50 Sales Professionals across North America
