About The Position

The New American Welcome Center (NAWC) Integration Director will lead the implementation and ongoing development of NAWC integration programs and services. This role is responsible for overseeing post-citizenship case management, facilitating civic education and passport support, coordinating partnerships and volunteer engagement pathways, and strengthening community outreach efforts. The ideal candidate will have experience working with immigrant communities, strong leadership and organizational skills, and a passion for advancing civic participation, belonging, and long-term integration for newcomers

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in social services, human services, education, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with immigrant communities or in social services.
  • Working knowledge of immigration issues and the needs of immigrant communities
  • Experience in direct service provision to diverse populations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication abilities
  • Experience in grant writing and management
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Fluency in English and at least one other language common in the immigrant community served
  • CPR, First Aid (must attain within 90 days of hire)
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk, using a computer and telephone.
  • Ability to stand for periods of time while conducting workshops and community events.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds for occasional movement of program materials and supplies.
  • Ability to travel to community locations for outreach activities and meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide direct services to immigrant clients, including intake assessments, referrals, and follow-up support.
  • Schedule and facilitate workshops, classes, and support groups for immigrant participants.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and coordination of volunteers for NAWC programs and activities.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records and program data in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Support the development and implementation of outreach strategies to engage immigrant communities.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating community events and activities that promote cultural exchange and integration.
  • Collaborate with community partners to enhance service delivery and resource sharing.
  • Prepare program reports and collect outcome data to measure program effectiveness.
  • Provide interpretation and translation services when appropriate.
  • Assist with grant applications and reports as needed.
  • Identify and respond to emerging needs within immigrant communities served by the NAWC.
  • Maintain knowledge of community resources available to immigrant populations.
  • Represent the NAWC at community meetings and events.
  • Support in implementing strategic initiatives and program development.
  • Develop and lead a structured post-citizenship integration framework that supports newly naturalized individuals during their first 12 months of citizenship.
  • Provide light-touch case management and individualized integration plans connecting participants to civic, educational, economic, and health resources.
  • Facilitate voter registration and deliver nonpartisan civic education to promote informed and active civic participation.
  • Coordinate passport readiness education and application support to ensure full civic documentation and global mobility access.
  • Establish and manage referral pathways for health insurance enrollment, workforce development services, public benefits, and educational advancement.
  • Integrate newly naturalized citizens into YMCA volunteer and civic engagement initiatives, fostering leadership development and community belonging.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with libraries, workforce boards, health providers, local government agencies, and community-based organizations to strengthen integration outcomes.
  • Develop data tracking systems and measurable integration outcomes (e.g., voter registration completion, passport applications submitted, insurance enrollment, volunteer engagement).
  • Supervise integration staff and/or volunteers while ensuring compliance with DOJ Recognition standards and grant requirements.
  • Identify emerging needs within immigrant communities and provide strategic recommendations to strengthen program effectiveness and long-term sustainability.
