About The Position

The Director of Production Finance plays a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of Sports Production. This includes full ownership of budgeting, actualization, forecasting, and financial analysis. The position partners closely with FP&A, Production, Operations, Scheduling, and Finance leadership, and provides direct support to the Vice President, Production Finance. This role also manages a small team responsible for day-to-day financial processing and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 9+ years of experience in FP&A or Controllership, with a strong understanding of financial processes and reporting cycles
  • Experience managing at least one direct report
  • Advanced computer and analytical skills, with strength in Excel and PowerPoint (e.g., complex formulas, modeling, data analysis, building presentations)

  • Experience with SAP and BPC preferred, with the ability to navigate complex financial systems.
  • Strong foundation in accounting principles and financial close cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Production & Operations teams.
  • Lead and participate in recurring budget meetings, providing clear financial insights and answering cost-related questions.
  • Prepare cost analyses and financial summaries to support decision-making.
  • Own the end-to-end Production Budget process, including detailed preparation for each upcoming season.
  • Collaborate with the Scheduling department to align staffing plans with budget targets.
  • Support annual budgeting cycles, including pacing, reporting, and identifying financial risks and opportunities.
  • Point of contact with FP&A team, responsible for consolidating Production Finance numbers, reconciling to Corporate reporting and building financial deck pages.
  • Manage monthly close activities, pacing updates, estimates, long-range planning (LRP), annual budgets, and variance analysis.
  • Produce accurate and timely post-close financial reporting for leadership.
  • Lead and develop team responsible for:
  • Invoice coding and processing
  • Vendor coordination and approval workflows
  • Updating operators and internal teams on financial status
  • Actualizing production budgets and maintaining show models
  • Ensuring accurate posting of expenses and forecasting updates
  • Support leadership with special requests, deep-dive analyses, and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
