About The Position

The NASWSI Director leads the development and operation of the Institute and reports to and works in collaboration with the Dean, Facundo Valdez School of Social Work (FVSSW). The Director performs a wide-range of duties which include program planning and development for the Institute, and oversight and management of its programs. The Director will be responsible for shaping the direction of the Institute, development of staffing, and identifying internal (NMHU and the School of Social Work) and external stakeholders and constituents who can contribute to the success of the Institute. Program development will include the creation of a clinical practice concentration (curriculum and faculty development), and research and policy components related to federal, state, and tribal legislation especially as regards family and children's services within tribal jurisdictions. The Director works closely with tribal governments and program personnel to assure integrity of all components of the Institute.
