The Director of HR at the National Tennis Center is responsible for directing all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, training, and HR policies and procedures, while fostering a meaningful workplace culture. This role involves collaboration with various departments to ensure effective personnel management and employee engagement.

  • Serve as a direct report to the Chief Operating Officer, NTC.
  • Direct Year-Round and US Open's administrative processes to improve employee morale and business processes.
  • Oversee all full-time, part-time, and seasonal recruitment processes for the NTC.
  • Manage full-time NTC Recruiter and Seasonal US Open recruitment team.
  • Collaborate with all NTC/USTA departments for consistency in seasonal personnel management.
  • Negotiate short/long-term goals with Senior Management.
  • Act as liaison for the USTA People+Culture department.
  • Oversee payroll entries and maintenance in HR/Payroll systems.
  • Direct employee activities to improve engagement.
  • Develop and maintain staffing templates for all departments.
  • Manage tracking of seasonal payroll expenses.
  • Prepare year-end expense summaries post-US Open.
  • Complete Financial Reporting utilizing ADP.
  • Oversee seasonal recruitment and onboarding materials.
  • Direct annual US Open seasonal employee training program.
  • Manage updates to the staff database in ICIMS/ADP.
  • Establish and maintain seasonal employee files.
  • Work with NTC department directors to update job descriptions.
  • Solve Employee Relations issues, including managing the Disciplinary process.
  • A bachelor's degree in HR or Business Management.
  • 6+ years of HR experience; certification in SHRM is preferred.
  • 5+ years of recruiting, high-volume hiring/onboarding experience.
  • 5+ years' experience managing HRIS systems (iCIMS preferred).
  • 3+ years managing HR/Recruiting direct reports.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends for special events.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong managerial skills and experience leading recruitment teams.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Significant hands-on experience managing payroll systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite; Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in event operations, sports/sporting events, hospitality, or recreational facilities.
