The Director of National Recruitment at Kent State University is responsible for overseeing the national recruitment areas within the Admissions Office. This role involves providing leadership and strategic management of the university's national recruitment operations and programs. The Director will work closely with the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management to set goals, develop strategic action plans, and implement yield strategies that align with both short-term and long-term objectives. The position requires the development and implementation of an annual recruitment plan for both undergraduate and graduate student recruitment, particularly focusing on students outside of the Northeast Ohio region. In addition to strategic planning, the Director will model and promote best practices of inclusion, equity, and diversity in various aspects of recruitment, including staff hiring and development. The role includes direct supervision of unclassified staff, such as admissions counselors, and other personnel involved in outreach and recruitment efforts. The Director will assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies by collecting and analyzing data, using this information to recommend improvements to existing recruitment efforts. The position also entails developing and managing the undergraduate travel and territory management plan for the Office of Admissions, coordinating with communications staff to create an annual marketing and communication plan, and managing the CRM system to inform territory management practices. The Director will establish collaborative exchanges of information with other administrative and academic offices at Kent State, ensuring that recruitment plans are aligned with departmental goals. Additionally, the Director will supervise staff activities, provide training, and ensure compliance with ethical practices in college admissions. The role may also involve serving on various university committees and performing related duties as assigned.
