About The Position

The Director of National Accounts for Golf at PUMA is responsible for leading all sales, marketing, and account strategy initiatives, particularly focusing on Dick's Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy. This role encompasses managing day-to-day operations, developing long-term strategies, and ensuring the execution of seasonal marketing plans. The position requires a strong understanding of retail sales practices and the ability to drive consumer demand through innovative approaches and effective communication.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 10+ years of sales experience.
  • 7+ years in people management.
  • 5+ years in key account sales experience.
  • Experience with well-respected equipment and soft goods brands.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of sport performance, equipment, and lifestyle brands.
  • Ability to develop and implement sales and marketing plans based on customer needs.
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial approach to business issues.
  • Ability to learn and communicate complex concepts quickly.
  • Strong understanding of retail sales practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and overall business orientation.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and make recommendations.
  • High level of technical product knowledge.
  • Ability to present category knowledge using PowerPoint and spreadsheet tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of sales, marketing, and account strategy for Dick's Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy.
  • Manage long-term strategy, seasonal marketing plans, product presentations, and operational tasks.
  • Directly manage the internal service support role.
  • Deliver required reports and sales analysis on time.
  • Manage account sales and marketing budgets, providing monthly spend updates.
  • Collaborate with internal sales and marketing teams to develop plans that reflect COBRA PUMA GOLF brand attributes.
  • Develop growth targets and achieve sales goals by quarter and category.
  • Deliver forecasts and orders by booking deadlines.
  • Manage accounts through business planning, inventory control, and analysis.
  • Define key account strategic needs for seasonal programs.
  • Monitor competitors' activities and implement strategies to compete effectively.
  • Provide high-level service and technical expertise from sell-in to sell-through.
  • Contribute to team approaches in account management and seek improvements.
  • Act as a liaison between COBRA PUMA GOLF operations and account operations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on the Account Marketing Plan.
