With a roster of internationally recognized artists and a growing global footprint, we operate at the intersection of music, culture, and innovation, developing impactful campaigns that resonate far beyond traditional genre or geographic lines. 88rising is seeking a Director, Music Commerce to lead our commercial relationships with global streaming and digital retail partners. This role will serve as the primary account lead for key platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, YouTube, and other digital service providers, helping to shape and execute strategies that maximize the commercial success of our releases. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of the streaming ecosystem, strong DSP relationships, and the ability to translate data insights into impactful marketing and commerce strategies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in music commerce, digital sales, or streaming partnerships at a record label, distributor, or digital platform
  • Strong knowledge of the global streaming ecosystem, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube
  • Experience developing and executing commercial and marketing strategies for music releases
  • Highly analytical with the ability to translate data and consumption insights into actionable strategy
  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for music and a strong understanding of global music culture, particularly within the 88rising community
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for 88rising releases across global commercial and streaming partners
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with digital retail platforms, editorial teams, and distributor partners
  • Develop and execute partner-driven marketing and commerce strategies that support release campaigns and long-term catalog growth
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with A&R, marketing, digital, and artist teams to align release plans and commercial priorities
  • Analyze consumption data, audience insights, and platform performance to optimize campaign strategy
  • Identify and share best practices and new opportunities across DSP partners and global markets
  • Support pitching efforts to platform partners to secure editorial, marketing, and promotional opportunities
