Summary of the Position: Asset Management focuses on asset strategy, business plan development and execution, investment performance, investment decision analysis, lease analysis, a redevelopment management within the operating portfolio. The Director will be involved with quantitative financial modelling, asset performance analysis, and reporting for the multifamily real estate portfolio. The role will also interact with senior management and departments across the company.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in an analytically rigorous Real Estate or Finance environment
  • Experience with financial modelling
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Must have strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Proven ability to think strategically and navigate ambiguity
  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset

  • Demonstrated record of working collaboratively
  • Ability to multi-task across different functions and manage multiple projects

Responsibilities

  • Think strategically and broadly about multifamily assets, looking deeply at the buildings through a traditional asset management lens but also think creatively about ways to maintain a competitive advantage for the long-term
  • Prepare and maintain residential asset management model for each asset
  • Conduct physical inspections of each property in assigned portfolio to develop a thorough understanding of each property and its challenges, assess implementation of strategic initiatives, assess operational and management performance, and identify opportunities for improvement and communicate those opportunities to internal stakeholders
  • Closely collaborate with operating partner to work through challenges and communicate concerns as well as provide recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Take active role in creation of annual operating and capital budgets. Collaborate with teams and impart property and market knowledge to create comprehensive budgets that meet targeted investment strategies and objectives
  • Execute on or establish an asset’s business plan; coordinate with investment partners and participate in meetings with internal teams as well third-party consultants, such as architects, engineers, and marketing agencies, in furtherance of the asset’s business plan
  • Maintain market expertise through on-site visits, in-depth analysis of industry trends and economic drivers then collaborate with internal stakeholder and operating partner to implement adjustments to property strategy to account for market shifts
  • Assist in refinancing, acquisition, and disposition activities, as they arise
  • Support acquisition and development activities, as they arise
  • Draft lender/investor communication for approval
  • Gather lender, investor, and/or appraisal information, as requested
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis for investor(s) and/or internal stakeholders as requested
