About The Position

This role provides strategic medical leadership for a heart failure portfolio, guiding clinical research, product safety, and scientific engagement. The Director, Medical Affairs will oversee clinical study design, investigator-initiated research, and publication planning while ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives. Acting as a key medical representative, this role engages with KOLs, professional societies, and advisory boards, presenting at congresses and supporting internal and external education initiatives. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate medical strategy with commercial goals and to ensure ethical compliance. This high-impact role offers broad exposure to both scientific and operational aspects of medical affairs in a dynamic, remote-first environment. Success is measured by the quality of evidence generation, stakeholder engagement, and overall contribution to patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; PhD, MD, or equivalent advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 12 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in the healthcare or medical industry
  • Strong scientific knowledge and business acumen, with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and engage external stakeholders effectively
  • Experience in clinical research, publication planning, and medical education
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, product safety, and risk management processes
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Strategic thinker with strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical research strategy, including investigator-initiated studies and grants
  • Provide medical input for product development, regulatory submissions, and promotional activities
  • Engage with key opinion leaders (KOLs), professional societies, and advisory boards; represent the company at medical congresses
  • Support publication planning, abstracts, and presentations of clinical data
  • Deliver internal and external education on heart failure therapies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align medical strategy with commercial objectives
  • Ensure compliance with medical affairs policies, ethical standards, and global regulations
  • Contribute to risk management, product safety, and post-market surveillance initiatives
