About The Position

The Media Relations Director at Travelers is responsible for leading external communications strategies that promote the company and protect its reputation. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, PR, communications or writing.
  • Seven years of related communications experience.
  • Two years of people-management experience.
  • Proven writing and strong editing skills with attention to detail.
  • Deep understanding of contemporary communications techniques and media relations methods.
  • Thorough understanding of business strategies.
  • Ability to build productive working relationships across functional areas.
  • Advanced project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit and proofread communications for media relations projects.
  • Oversee media relations projects and provide feedback to team members.
  • Partner with stakeholders to establish objectives and coordinate content development.
  • Counsel leadership on media relations approaches and develop creative campaigns.
  • Manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to communications delivery.
  • Identify target external audiences and interact with reporters from various media outlets.
  • Guide others in media relations best practices and brand guidelines.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of media relations placements.
