About The Position

The Why Behind Wellvana: Wellvana partners with primary care providers, hospitals and health systems to make the transition from fee-for-service to value-based care life-changing for patients and providers. With more than a dozen ACOs, as well as Medicare Advantage contracts from coast to coast, Wellvana matches its partners with personalized paths in their value-based care journey. By offering multiple high-touch delivery models, including guided physician enablement as well as embedded support featuring Foundational Care™ management, Wellvana layers in supporting services that help reduce the administrative load while delivering resources to patients that drive positive outcomes. Founded in 2018 and based in Nashville, Tenn., Wellvana works with partners in over 40 states, caring for nearly a million lives across multiple payors. Clarity on the Role: The Director, Marketing Technology & CRM will manage and continuously improve Wellvana’s marketing technology platforms—optimizing the systems that power personalized, compliant, and measurable engagement across partner and patient audiences. You’ll live in our ESP and CRM platforms day-to-day—building campaigns, optimizing workflows, and ensuring our marketing technology stack runs like a well-oiled machine. You’ll lead platform implementations when it’s time to stand up new tools, working hand-in-hand with engineering and IT to get integrations right. And you’ll bring a genuine curiosity about AI, piloting new features and workflows that make our systems smarter without overcomplicating them. You’re equal parts operator and optimizer. You can build a multi-step lifecycle journey in the morning and present campaign performance to leadership in the afternoon. You know what good data hygiene looks like, you obsess over deliverability, and you understand that the best technology in the world means nothing if nobody adopts it. Whether you’ve managed martech platforms at a health system, a growing startup, or an agency—if you’ve driven real results through CRM and marketing automation, we want to talk. Candidates with healthcare experience have a head start, but strong platform operators from any industry should apply. This position is hybrid and ideally works from Nashville headquarters at least 3 days per week. Some travel may be required. The role lives on the Experience Team and reports to the Chief Experience Officer, working closely with Editorial, Growth, Product, Technology, Partner Success, Operations, Analytics, Engineering, and Executive Leadership. This is a people-leader position.

Requirements

  • Live Out the Wellvana Way
  • Find a way. Be accountable, see the work through, make it life-changing.
  • Ask the why question. The conventional wisdom is often wrong. Be curious and always connect your work back to the goal and audience.
  • Move on what matters: Prioritize the work and be laser focused on what moves the needle.
  • Expect to win: Confidence is contagious. Bring solutions.
  • You can’t do it alone. And you’re not expected to. We work best when we’re a team. Silos slow us down. Collaboration and communication are the fast way... and the fun way.
  • High-energy, results-driven marketing technologist with a desire to disrupt the current healthcare system and make it better for providers and patients.
  • 5–7+ years of hands-on experience in CRM management, marketing automation, email marketing, or marketing operations.
  • 3+ years of experience leading or mentoring a team in a marketing technology or operations function.
  • Deep, hands-on proficiency in at least one major ESP/CRM platform (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Braze, HubSpot, Marketo, or similar). You can build campaigns, troubleshoot issues, and train others.
  • Proven experience leading platform implementations—vendor evaluation, project management, data migration, configuration, and go-live.
  • Working knowledge of how APIs and integrations connect CRM platforms to data warehouses, BI tools, and other systems. You don’t need to write the code, but you need to speak the language and partner effectively with engineering.
  • Strong interest in AI-powered marketing tools and a track record of piloting new platform features. Experience with AI-driven personalization, predictive analytics, or generative AI tools is a plus—curiosity and willingness to learn is a must.
  • Experience building lifecycle and journey programs—onboarding, nurture, retention, and re-engagement—across email, SMS, and other channels.
  • Solid understanding of email deliverability, data hygiene, segmentation best practices, and compliance (CAN-SPAM, HIPAA awareness).
  • Comfortable with reporting and analytics—you can build dashboards, track KPIs, and present campaign performance to leadership.
  • HTML email template knowledge required. SQL familiarity a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, information systems, or similar.
  • Strong communicator who can translate platform capabilities into business terms and make recommendations that stick.
  • An individual who sees ambiguity as an opportunity, not an obstacle.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with partner-focused or B2B lifecycle marketing is a plus, especially in healthcare or value-based care settings.
  • Healthcare-related experience a plus. But hey, we’re all learning here. Varied perspectives make us stronger.

Responsibilities

  • The Platform Operator: You manage and optimize Wellvana’s CRM and ESP platforms (Salesforce, Braze, or similar) on a daily basis: building campaigns, configuring automations, managing data fields, troubleshooting deliverability, and ensuring the team gets maximum value from every tool in our stack.
  • The Implementation Lead: When it’s time to stand up a new platform or migrate off an old one, you lead the charge. You manage vendor evaluation, project timelines, data migration, configuration, testing, and go-live. You work with engineering and IT to ensure integrations are properly built and maintained.
  • The Journey Builder: You build and optimize partner and patient lifecycle journeys—onboarding sequences, activation campaigns, retention workflows, and re-engagement triggers. You manage cross-channel execution (email, SMS, direct mail) and continuously test to improve engagement and conversion.
  • The AI Explorer: You have a genuine interest in AI and actively identify opportunities to pilot AI-powered features within our platforms—predictive send times, AI-generated subject lines, smart segmentation, dynamic content. You test, measure, and scale what works, championing responsible AI adoption across the marketing team.
  • The Data Steward: You ensure CRM data quality, list hygiene, and compliance (CAN-SPAM, HIPAA). You manage segmentation, reporting dashboards, and campaign attribution. You work with analytics to connect lifecycle activity to business outcomes and present performance to leadership.
  • The Collaborator: You’re the go-to person for marketing technology questions across the organization. You partner with Editorial, Growth, Partner Success, and Sales to ensure campaigns are properly built, audiences are properly segmented, and reporting is properly attributed. You train teammates on platform best practices.
