About The Position

The Director of Marketing and Communications at the University of California, Riverside, is a pivotal role that reports directly to the Chief of Staff/CFAO and collaborates closely with the Vice Chancellor in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (VCSA). This position is tasked with the creation, implementation, and prioritization of comprehensive communications and marketing strategies aimed at promoting and connecting with all Student Affairs departments and centers, serving over 26,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The Director will engage in executive and crisis communications, working alongside senior leadership to ensure effective messaging and outreach. In this multifaceted role, the Director will develop and execute innovative marketing and communications campaigns across various platforms, including digital and print materials, video, and photography. A significant focus will be on social media and website management, enhancing brand exposure and awareness, and ultimately elevating the student experience at UC Riverside. The incumbent must demonstrate a strong track record in managing major marketing and communication projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all initiatives align with the university's goals and objectives. The Director will also be responsible for developing integrated marketing and communication plans that utilize technology to track value and evaluate effectiveness through reporting tools. This includes leading a team that produces a variety of publications, reports, program brochures, press releases, and electronic marketing materials, as well as directing content on the Student Affairs website. Additionally, the Director will oversee VCSA organization-level events, ensuring that all marketing efforts are cohesive and impactful. The expected salary range for this position is between $100,100 and $155,000 annually, with the full salary range extending to $190,500, based on various factors such as education, experience, and organizational needs.
