About The Position

The National Account Director at Ultragenyx is responsible for ensuring broad access to all Ultragenyx products for assigned accounts. This role focuses on building relationships with accounts and downstream health plans, developing strategic business cases, and aligning internal stakeholders to optimize access account engagement. The position aims to make a significant impact on rare disease patients by facilitating access to life-changing treatments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science (Pharmacist/HEOR) or other graduate degree.
  • Bachelor's degree - BA/BS required.
  • Minimum of 5-7+ years of account management and/or leadership experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Minimum of 5+ years Market Access experience with large accounts, healthcare systems, national payers, and/or regional payers.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in strategy in pipeline and/or in-line product launches.
  • 3+ years experience in biotechnology/injectables market.
  • History of successful cross-functional partnerships across multiple internal stakeholder groups.
  • Medicare Part B reimbursement experience.
  • Managed care marketing, brand management, and/or contracting experience.
  • Specialty Pharmacy channel experience.
  • Demonstrate advanced ability to ask strategic, insightful questions to obtain information on customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify trends and assess comprehensive impact as well as opportunities.
  • Foster relationships with identified access account targets and develop a strategic business case for potential engagements.
  • Ensure the success and alignment of the entire portfolio with access accounts, focusing on strategic brands and future product launches.
  • Develop strategic account plans and strategy, focusing on short and long-term engagement and partnership objectives.
  • Establish alignment across internal stakeholders to enable optimal coordination of access account engagement.
  • Build and cultivate influential relationships with key Account influencers, including at the C-Suite level.
  • Collaborate with commercial field team, medical affairs, and patient services to resolve reimbursement issues.
