About The Position

The Director, Market Access and Channel Strategy for US Neuroscience at Takeda is responsible for developing and overseeing sustainable market access strategies that ensure patient access to Takeda's products. This role involves value story development, payer contracting strategy, pricing, and managing marketing resources for both in-line and pipeline products. The director will collaborate with various internal teams to capture payer insights and develop compelling value propositions, while also managing payer and channel-specific marketing plans to meet business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience in biopharma market access required.
  • Experience with specialty products preferred.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Legal, Finance, Analytics, and Public Affairs.
  • Understanding of US payer market dynamics and managed care decision-making processes.
  • Knowledge of specialty pharmacy operations and drivers to ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Knowledge across multiple market channels including payer, PBM, IDN, distribution, specialty pharmacy, and GPOs.
  • Knowledge of the Commercial brand planning process.
  • Financial acumen including resource allocation, budget management, and P&L evaluation.
  • Analytical capabilities to ensure robust inputs to decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee sustainable US market access and channel strategies for Takeda's Neuroscience products.
  • Responsible for value story development, payer/PBM contracting strategy, pricing, specialty pharmacy and distribution plans.
  • Collaborate with Patient and Market Access colleagues, Medical, HEOR, Marketing, Finance, Analytics, and Sales to capture payer insights and develop value propositions.
  • Understand the reimbursement landscape and incorporate it into market access and pricing strategy.
  • Collaborate with HEOR to develop payer evidence needs and integrate them into the Medical/HEOR evidence plan.
  • Manage and execute payer and channel specific marketing plans to achieve patient and business objectives.
  • Align organization on metrics to assess the impact of key market access strategies and tactics.
  • Contribute to annual brand planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes to represent payer and channel customer segments.
  • Partner with New Product Planning and Business Development to inform market access inputs for early-stage assets.
  • Identify payer/system specific opportunities for innovative arrangements based on brand strategies.
