Position Overview The Director-Marine Engineering Services is an office-based position that is responsible for overseeing the physical design of submarine network projects within Marine Engineering Services. The role requires extensive knowledge of all elements of submarine network (SN) system design, route engineering, DTS, GIS, survey, and company manufacturing process. The position oversees all submarine network engineering including subcontractor management, logistics, customer interface, and delivery of client approved engineered documents and data for wet and dry plant operations.

Requirements

  • College degree or a minimum of ten years of relevant undersea cable system design, engineering, and manufacturing experience is preferable.
  • Makai Plan Pro and ESRI GIS proficiency required.
  • Strong technical writing and leadership skills required.
  • Interpersonal savvy and excellent customer management skills are vital.
  • Ability to manage through change and uncertainty.
  • Must be able to rapidly adjust to changing customer direction.
  • Candidates for positions with SubCom must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • The Director-Marine Engineering Services is responsible for directly managing a team of over eleven on site personnel, as well as interfacing with numerous additional engineering, design, and manufacturing personnel located at the company’s corporate headquarters.
  • Additionally, this role must effectively influence and drive the work of others, including company personnel, as well as teammates from other companies all supporting the customer.
  • This position reports directly to the Managing Director, Marine Cable Engineering and Operations.
