We are looking for you to join our team as a Director of Manufacturing Operations based out of Charlottesville, VA. The Charlottesville Manufacturing Director is responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team building products that support a variety of military customers. This role primarily supports the Naval and Oceanic Systems business unit; a key element of the Maritime/Land Systems & Sensors (MLSS) division within the Mission Systems sector. The Charlottesville manufacturing team is vertically integrated building electrical harnesses, circuit card assemblies and machined components and integrating them into critical hardware assemblies. System functionality includes inertial navigation, machinery and controls, steering and signal processing. The manufacturing team is a center of excellence with the corporation and provides additional support throughout the company including space hardware, airborne components and missile defense commodities. The Manufacturing Director will lead a high performing Manufacturing team of approximately 200 employees responsible for a vast portfolio of products and processes including: wire harness build, assembly, test, machining, painting, sustainment and product development. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated success leading broad organizations within cost and schedule while achieving a high level of product quality and employee engagement in a safe environment. The position requires a systems thinking approach, unwavering ethics and values, and the demonstrated ability to be a trusted partner. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information, effective communication, and championing and leading change with a diverse set of internal and external customers and suppliers. The General Manufacturing Director will report to the Senior Director of Virginia Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have the ability to improve Product/Process designs using LEAN tools and Advanced Manufacturing Solutions while focusing on employee safety and engagement.
