The Director of Manufacturing Engineering will work with cross-functional teams, coordinating with program management, product design engineering, manufacturing engineering and operations managements. The Manufacturing Engineer team ensures that the product design and manufacturing process advances the manufacturing technologies at L3Harris.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience.
  • Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience overseeing Manufacturing engineering.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience in Manufacturing Engineering leadership.

  • Experience leading teams in a high performing organization.
  • Manufacturing experience of complex electronics, optics and/or electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience leading the deployment of new manufacturing technologies and new product development.
  • Demonstrated track record working in cross-functional teams and influencing organizational change.
  • Demonstrated experience / certification in Lean principles; Six Sigma, mistake proofing, and problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Use lean, manufacturing engineering, automation, and digital technologies to design future state manufacturing environments that drives cost leadership, world class quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay current and be a subject matter expert on the latest manufacturing technologies - such as automation and additive manufacturing - including design software, manufacturing equipment, and materials.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to early career professionals.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and quality to integrate design and process integrity processes such as xFMEAs and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production, to ensure product manufacturability and alignment with business objectives.
