About The Position

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven fundraising leader to cultivate and manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals and family offices. This role is responsible for executing a multi-year major gifts strategy, driving significant revenue growth through $10K–$1M gifts, and advancing organizational priorities. You will manage a national portfolio of donors, collaborate with executive leadership, and partner with cross-functional teams to integrate fundraising initiatives. The ideal candidate combines relationship-building expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for philanthropy, while delivering measurable impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position offers the opportunity to influence high-level donor engagement and contribute to meaningful social change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7–10 years of experience in major gift fundraising, preferably with national or international nonprofit organizations.
  • Demonstrated success securing five- and six-figure gifts from individuals.
  • Experience managing high-profile donor relationships and partnering with senior executives.
  • Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and lead fundraising staff.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and storytelling skills that inspire confidence and trust.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or comparable CRM systems.
  • Strategic thinker with analytical skills to translate organizational priorities into donor-focused initiatives.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in donor engagement and team culture.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% domestically, with occasional international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a major gifts strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of 25–50 high-value donors, expanding to 100–150+ over time.
  • Secure $10K–$1M gifts, emphasizing unrestricted and strategic funding.
  • Develop and implement moves management plans for donor qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, including the CEO and Board Chair, to advance key donor relationships.
  • Coordinate cross-functional engagement with Marketing, Programs, and Affiliate Relations to integrate donor strategies.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, track fundraising metrics, and prepare proposals and briefing materials.
  • Lead major-gift pipeline meetings to review progress, set next steps, and ensure consistent communication across teams.
