About The Position

The Director, Corporate Development Integration & Divestitures provides global leadership for M&A integrations and separations across Aon, with end‑to-end accountability from due diligence through execution and close‑out. This role owns the Global Separation Management Office (GSMO) and serves as the Finance lead within the Integration Governance Office (IGO), ensuring disciplined governance, value capture, and risk management across all transactions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certification preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in M&A integration, divestitures, corporate development, finance, or large‑scale transformation
  • Demonstrated leadership of complex, multi‑country integrations and/or separations, including carve‑outs and TSAs
  • Proven experience operating within or leading enterprise governance models
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience linking deal models to execution outcomes
  • Exceptional problem‑solving, judgment, and decision‑making skills in ambiguous, high‑pressure environments
  • Executive‑level communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and diverse stakeholders globally

Responsibilities

  • Global Integration & Separation Leadership
  • Provide global leadership for M&A integrations and divestitures, including full‑company integrations, tuck‑ins, carve‑outs, and complex separations
  • Define and execute integration and separation strategies aligned to deal objectives, value creation plans, and operating model decisions
  • Ensure operational continuity, risk mitigation, and Day 1 / Day 2 readiness across all geographies
  • Global Separation Management Office (GSMO)
  • Own and lead the Global Separation Management Office (GSMO), establishing enterprise standards for separation governance, methodologies, tools, and reporting
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for complex separations, including stranded cost management, TSA design and exit, regulatory readiness, and execution sequencing
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, HR, IT, and business leadership to ensure separations preserve value and minimize disruption
  • Capture and institutionalize lessons learned to continuously strengthen Aon’s divestiture and separation capabilities
  • Integration Governance & Finance Leadership
  • Serve as the Finance lead within the Integration Governance Office (IGO), shaping governance frameworks, decision rights, escalation paths, and success metrics
  • Ensure alignment between deal model assumptions, integration and separation budgets, synergy tracking, and post‑close financial reporting
  • Provide executive‑level insights on value capture, risks, interdependencies, and financial trade‑offs to deal sponsors and senior leadership
  • Due Diligence Leadership
  • Coordinate global integration and separation due diligence, ensuring early identification of execution risks, complexity drivers, and resourcing implications
  • Translate diligence findings into actionable integration or separation strategies, execution roadmaps, and governance models
  • Influence deal structuring and timing decisions by providing clear perspectives on execution feasibility and risk
  • Execution Oversight
  • Mobilize and oversee Integration Management Offices (IMOs) and separation governance structures for concurrent transactions
  • Establish and manage global cadence, reporting, and performance tracking across integration and separation workstreams
  • Maintain and continuously improve tools, templates, dashboards, and tracking mechanisms to support consistent execution
  • Proactively identify and resolve cross‑functional issues, dependencies, and risks using enterprise relationships and experience
  • Leadership & Capability Building
  • Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing global integration and separation capability, including internal teams and external advisors
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on complex transactions, transformations, and special projects
