The LADS SBU is seeking a Chief Engineer (CE) to serve as the LTAMDS (Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor) Poland CE and LTAMDS Staff Lead. LTAMDS is a Raytheon Technologies franchise program that delivers the next generation radar with 360-degree visibility to defeat advanced threats including hypersonic weapons. The LTAMDS Poland CE will be directly responsible for supporting the LTAMDS Sub Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) in technical execution of the development, production, and sustainment scope for the Foreign Military Sale (FMS) contract for Poland. Scope includes but is not limited to the introduction of new Major End Items (MEIs) including the Battery Maintenance Center (BMC), Small Repair Parts Trailer (SRPT) and Frequency Converters as well as an Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) for European standard lighting. This contract also includes software development for integration into the Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) configuration for the Integrated Battle Command Station (IBCS) as well as site surveys and execution of System Integration Check Out (SICO). It is anticipated that this role will expand over time to include additional international partners (Taiwan, UAE, Japan, etc.). The CE will need to demonstrate the capability to develop and govern technical execution of product development and production. The Production CE will also be responsible for establishing/maintaining an effective relationship with internal and external technical and programmatic stakeholders. Strong demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills are required to help drive the team to meet program milestones. This role will also serve as the Technical Staff Lead for the LTAMDS OCE with several direct reports. The role includes responsibility for employee training and performance. This is an on-site position, located in Tewksbury, MA.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 14 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in a technical leadership role, including experience across the development lifecycle.
  • Experience leading and conducting trade studies, system development and design, systems requirements development and management, system integration and test, and production support.
  • Experience leading engineering teams and developing work plans.
  • Experience leading proposals and EACs, and managing resources with multi-million-dollar annual budgets.
  • An active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar Engineering discipline.
  • Experience in a technical leadership role, including experience across the development lifecycle, including systems and sub-systems.

  • Direct experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities (R&O) Management
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related discipline
  • Experience with technical advisory disposition for Export / Import (EXIM)

Responsibilities

  • Must be willing to travel 25% of the time in support of program activities both domestically and internationally.
  • Assist in management of product vision, strategy, and goals to align to meet Programs/Customers milestones; facilitate conflict resolution.
  • Intimate understanding of exportability requirements, licensing and Tech Advisor roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across the program and other functions to meet and/or exceed cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
  • Technical point of contact with senior customer counterparts, internal senior program management and engineering leadership.
  • Technically engage with major subcontractors and offset organization and partners to ensure product deliverables.
  • Direct a team of multi-disciplined engineers.
