About The Position

The Director, Local & Audio is a leadership role as well as managerial one. The Director has a key role in developing and driving departmental initiatives for the Clients/teams they oversee. The Director cultivates client and media relationships specifically at senior levels. The Director will create a collaborative structure that allows the Client to go to market in a forward way of thinking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years of local broadcast experience (TV and radio)
  • Client management a must
  • Working knowledge of Media Ocean and Hudson MX

Responsibilities

  • Initiate's projects/presentations dealing with broad scaled matters both internally and externally
  • Conceive of partnerships with media properties to the strategic benefit of clients
  • Collaborate with SVP, Group Director to ensure negotiation, pricing strategy and operational efficiency is consistent across all Clients
  • Ensure all cost guarantees, quality metrics and post buyer performance is delivered and reported accurately to the client.
  • Seek out innovative solutions to client media objectives
  • Build trusting, collaborative relationships with clients at all levels
  • Manage expectations of senior clients and agency deliverables
  • Establishes and maintains business relationships with rep and station management (cable, TV, radio)
  • Accurately represent the client's point of view when reviewing work, leverage this perspective when providing feedback to team and presenting to client
  • Work together with other Agency departments to create a unified approach, with vendors, whom cross disciplines (broadcast, print, digital, OOH)
  • Represent Local spot buying expertise internally and externally
  • Grow business opportunities with current clients
  • Ensure appropriate staff utilization
  • Collaborate with Research to identify local broadcast needs, etc.
  • Adopt data-driven decisions when appropriate, to make well-informed media choices
  • Ensure key information is provided to team regarding client issues, internal agency issues, changes in account status, etc.
  • Actively keep current with industry trends, media tools – buying systems, research, resources and associations
  • Provide guidance to team members and nurture/promote team environment
  • Train, motivate and develop assigned staff
  • Persuasive delivery of information

  • Collaborative and able to successfully bring people from different disciplines, internal and external to dentsu Media, together to achieve desired outcomes

  • Encourage open, on-going internal communication
  • Establish and maintain communications process with clients and agency service teams for each piece of business within the team
  • Lead client presentations on priority subject matters
