About The Position

Reporting to the Senior Director of Learning Technology & Design, the Director, Learning Curriculum Design will play a key role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of high-quality learning programs that support the skill growth of employees at more than 50 state regulatory agencies. Based on adult learning best practices, this position will collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts and will be a key contributor throughout the full learning design lifecycle, from needs analysis through evaluation. The Director, Learning Curriculum Design will combine their expertise in adult learning theory and instructional design to develop highly engaging learning experiences across all formats, including instructor-led, virtual and self-paced classes. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience developing, maintaining, and managing learning programs.
  • Experience with instructional technology, including Articulate 360.
  • Experience developing and testing eLearning courseware and digital learning deliverables for 508 compliance.
  • Experience in instructional and/or curriculum design and eLearning development.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with thorough attention to detail.
  • Ability to promote and facilitate coordination and cooperation amongst peers.
  • Ability to assert creative ideas and build working relationships to gain support and commitment.
  • Apply original and innovative thinking to improve processes, methods, systems, products, or services.
  • Ability to anticipate and prevent future problems while bringing about positive change and taking initiative within role.

  • Knowledge of eLearning development skills.
  • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures of instructional design and digital learning publishing (SCORM and AICC).
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment with a variety of stakeholders to identify and drive solution implementation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects driven by multiple deadlines.
  • Due to the nature of CSBS’s business in support of state financial services supervision, all CSBS employees have the potential of interacting with confidential information related to the supervision of financial services companies (“Confidential Supervisory Information”). As a result, in addition to general business conflicts of interest, all CSBS employees are expected to disclose conflicts of interest in financial services companies on at least an annual basis and to proactively avoid such conflicts.
  • Protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of CSBS information and information systems in accordance with CSBS policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the learning design lifecycle for regulator education projects in coordination with relevant team members.
  • Develop learning objectives, organize course content and create engaging learning activities based on adult learning theory that enhance the learner experience and drive retention.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to identify target audience’s learning needs.
  • Create presentation decks, job aids, participant workbooks, and instructor guides to support a consistent learner experience.
  • Develop and deliver eLearning best practices, content templates, and innovative technology usage guidance for learning solutions in support of CSBS education programs.
  • Create learning resources that support CSBS’s examiner education content (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games, etc.).
  • Collaborate on the development of learning assessment to evaluate the retention of knowledge.
  • Maintain the ongoing maintenance and accuracy of existing curricula and courses.
  • Assist with administration of CSBS’s learning management system as it relates to content delivery.
  • Act as primary liaison to relevant external stakeholder working groups and internal staff for content development.
