About The Position

Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. is seeking a Director, Lead Software Engineer in Boston, MA to work closely with key Investment Management stakeholders to understand business requirements and build required technical solutions. Work within an Agile team to ensure all key technical requirements are identified, estimated, designed, implemented, and tested. Support IT systems to ensure and maintain high standards on design, security, and system availability. Coordinate with cross-functional, technology, and business teams for day-to-day business operations. Ensure team follows firm wide and departmental coding standards, consistent design patterns, methodologies, and documentation for all software development projects. Respond to technical issues by providing production support for Level 1 and 2 escalations. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
  • Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Manager, Associate, Software Engineer, or a closely related occupation.
  • Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills: Java; Spring Boot and Spring Framework; Microservices and Webservices including REST and SOAP; JSON and XML; JPA and Hibernate; HTML and CSS; Java Script and Type Script; Angular; Gradel and Maven; Database; SQL; DB2; Sybase; MS SQL; Snowflake Cloud Database; Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform; Elasticsearch; Hazelcast; DevOps including Jira, Git, Jenkins, Sonar, and Junit; Scrum and Agile Methodologies; Investment Management business including Portfolio Management and Reporting, Performance Measurement, Attribution, Risk, and Global Investment Performance Standards.
