About The Position
The Director, Launch Excellence Management, plays a pivotal role in evolving a central standard Launch Excellence Capability while ensuring its operationalization and adoption for stakeholders globally. This position is part of an enterprise strategic team that leads and implements this capability across the broader organization, enabling key efficiencies for launches at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS). The Director is instrumental in shaping this multifaceted launch capability, which includes a resource hub offering best practice guidance, a single dynamic playbook, and innovative tools and templates. Additionally, the Director oversees a team of launch project management contractors, providing onboarding training, responsive mentorship, and direct project management support for launch teams. In this role, the Director will be accountable for the project management of the Launch Excellence capability project deliverables, which include core documentation, generating uptake and usage metrics, and collaborating with key stakeholders to gather actionable insights. The Director will also oversee holistic project monitoring, controls, team integration, change integration, and corrective actions as needed using a new centralized tool. Ensuring the application of innovative yet standardized project management best practices is essential for managing launches effectively. The Director will engage and incorporate key functional owners and workstreams to ensure continued alignment with corporate priorities and organizational changes, including functions such as Medical, Marketing, and Market Access. This role requires the Director to partner with launch team stakeholders to capture lessons learned, best practices, and key performance indicators, which will be regularly incorporated into a central launch excellence repository for continuous improvement. The Director will also lead launch kickoff meetings, readiness sessions, and strategic planning, acting as a thought partner with brand leads and Strategy & Operations partners. Furthermore, the Director will manage the functional and technical documentation for the launch management tool and integral processes, ensuring that third-party partners and agencies deliver initiatives on time, on budget, and within scope.
