JOB SUMMARY: Plans, directs, and supervises all administrative functions of the Laboratory in regard to services, programs, and evaluations of such programs. Confers with Administration, Medical Director, and Medical Staff to ascertain Harris Health System needs related to Laboratory Services while ensuring activities are in accordance with CAP and JCAHO standards and Harris Health System Administrative policies.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited college or university with a degree in Medical Technology, Biology or Chemistry and certified Medical Technologist (American Society of Clinical Pathologists, NCA, AMT, AAB).
• Seven years' experience in Core Laboratory including
• Five years of previous(recent) laboratory management experience
• PC equipment, Printer, Terminals, Analyzers
• Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact) Writing /Composing (Correspondence/Reports)
• Other Skills: Analytical, CRT, P.C., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access
• Work Schedule: Flexible
• Travel between Harris Health System facilities.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in management, Business or Healthcare Administration related program is preferred.
• Advance Training/Specialty: Microsoft Office; PeopleSoft (a plus)
