About The Position

Under the administrative direction of the COO and medical direction of a qualified Pathologist, the Laboratory Director is responsible for the administrative operation of the department; the maintenance of all policies, procedures and quality control practices; the management and supervision of the technical and clerical staff; the administration of the departmental budget; and the maintenance of effective physician and intradepartmental relations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an approved college or university in a scientific field or Medical Technology.
• ASCP (or equivalent for Laboratory) registry required.
• 5 years previous acceptable experience and work history in the Management or Assistant Management of a hospital Lab Department required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the administrative operation of the laboratory department.
• Maintain all policies, procedures, and quality control practices.
• Manage and supervise technical and clerical staff.
• Administer the departmental budget.
• Maintain effective physician and intradepartmental relations.
