About The Position
The Director of Laboratory Services is responsible for directing, establishing, and planning the overall policies and goals for the laboratory services within the hospital. This role requires a close collaboration with hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are consistently maintained. The Director will be tasked with writing and updating procedures and manuals as necessary, ensuring that they are reviewed annually to provide employees with the current information needed to perform tests and procedures effectively. This position relies heavily on extensive experience and sound judgment to plan and accomplish departmental goals, and it encompasses a variety of tasks that require a wide degree of creativity and latitude. The Director will lead and direct the work of others, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. Typically, this position reports directly to top management, emphasizing the importance of strategic alignment with the hospital's overall objectives.
